Rates are reference rates published by Frankfurter from official sources, usually updated once a day. Converted amounts are estimates and may differ from your card issuer’s rate or fees.
Questions
Which prices does it recognize?
Any price with a currency sign like $, €, ¥ or ₩, or a three-letter code like USD. Numbers without a currency, selections that include other text such as a product name, and prices written with non-Western digits are not recognized yet.
How accurate are the rates?
PriceTag uses reference rates from official sources, usually updated once a day. They are great for judging a price while you shop, but your card statement depends on your card issuer’s rate and fees.
How do I change my currency?
Open Settings from the extension and search by currency code or English name. You can also pick up to five favorite source currencies for the popup calculator.
Is my data safe?
PriceTag reads only the price text you select. To get a rate it sends only the two currency codes, not the amount. There is no sign-up, and it does not collect the pages you visit. Chrome’s install notice says it can run on all websites so that you can select a price on any store.
Is it really free?
Yes. Price conversion and the popup calculator stay free. Extras like price history and a wishlist are coming as Pro.
